Authorize.net - Save Payment Information

Please note: The Save Payment Information feature is only available for SimplePhoto accounts that use the Authorize.net payment gateway.

SimplePhoto can allow customers to save their card information on the checkout screen. This makes the checkout process easier when parents place an order for their second and third child. The customer's payment information is stored by Authorize.net when this feature is enabled.

Enable Save Payment Information

To enable the "Save payment information" feature, click on the Checkout Settings link on the SimplePhoto Dashboard. Find the Save Payment Information setting and select Enable. Customize the text related to this feature if you'd like using the fields provided, then click the Save Changes button at the bottom of the screen.

There are three customizable text fields related to the Save Payment Information feature:

Save Payment checkbox label
If no value is provided, the text "Save card for later" will be used.

Save Payment description text
If no value is provided, the following text will be used: Check the "Save card for later" checkbox to save your billing information for future purchases. Do not enable on a shared or public computer. Your card information is stored by Authorize.net, a secure payment processor.

'With Saved Card' text
If no value is provided, the text "with saved card" will be used.

Customer Information Manager (CIM) service

If you find that the Save Payment Information feature isn't saving the card information after the "Save card for later" checkbox is checked and an order is placed, please sign up for the Customer Information Manager (CIM) service in your Authorize.net account:

  1. Log into your Merchant Interface at https://account.authorize.net.
  2. Click Customer Information Manager in the main left side menu.
  3. Click Sign up for Customer Information Manager (CIM) Now.
  4. Click the checkbox labeled I have read and understand the Terms of Service.
  5. Click I Agree.

Ordering for another student

If enabling the Save Payment Information feature, we also recommend enabling one or both of the following two buttons that can be seen on the receipt page and will allow customers to conveniently place an order for additional students from the same school/prepay event or another school. These customizable button fields can be found in the Checkout Settings just above the Save Payment Information section. If nothing is entered in the fields, no buttons will appear on the receipt page:

'Order for another student in same school' button text

If the 'Order for another student in same school' button text field is populated and the order placed is for a prepay event, show a button or link that takes the customer to the same prepay event.

'Order for another student in different school' button text

If the 'Order for another student in different school' button text field is populated and the order placed is for a prepay event, show a button or link that takes the customer to the studio's storefront address. If both button text fields are populated, the 'Order for another student in same school' button should appear above the 'Order for another student in different school' button.
